My sister,(Molly's Aunt Julie) received news that her cancer has come back aggressive and will need to be treated more aggressively. We are asking for anyone reading this blog to spread the word for continue prayer and encouragement.
Julie has been moved from her home in Cincinnati to the Cleveland Clinic. A doctor comes highly recommended to treat Julie with several heavy rounds of Chemo for the next month and then will be
a candidate for Stem Cell Transplant. She will need to stay in the hospital for 2 nights at a time for the chemo. For her stem cell transplant, she will need to stay in the hospital for a month while recovering. When she is well enough, she will stay at Molly's grandparent's house, she will need several more weeks/months to gain strength, and then will need care for 2 years following.
Julie has been an inspiration now to all of us. She's taking the bad news and turning it into good. She channels her fears, sadness, and happiness and love in her art. She continues to paint her brand and collages and because of the awesome support, she has sold many paintings in just a few days. Julie keeps a great attitude and tries to be as normal as possible. She is spending lots of quality time with her husband and son before she is quarantined in the hospital, most likely over Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Originally she was going to be sent to Omaha Nebraska for treatment. However, since cancer grew so quickly it was going to take too much time to organize this move and she would have been separated from her family. We all agreed that it's important to be close to your family for the support and love.
We knew that this was becoming a financial burden on Julie and her family. It was becoming difficult to talk about treatments when the medical bills were piling up. It's hard to see the end or have home for a cure, when you don't know how you can pay for this. Luckily, insurance is paying for some. The rest is up to them. Only being married for a few years and having one income since she fell ill, it's impossible to make ends meet.
As her family, we have sent out messages for help. A medical relief site was created and in just hours, and days love, support, and encouragement poured in! That's the best flood to have!
Julie and Shawn were so greatful! Their eyes lit up with joy and relief! They can finally concentrate on healing rather then answer bill collectors for the medical debt.
Julie couldn't help but notice that there really is a lot of good in this world. And when tragic, scary, things happen, people really do unite and show how much they really care! Many families and friends that have donated are struggling themselves. So for the sacrifices they have all made, Julie & Shawn are so greatful!!
Julie and I are already discussing ways to pay it forward.
I believe in the power of prayer, faith, and the power of the human mind. The encouragement, laughter, the good in people, and the love surrounding us, will help Julie heal.

As of this week, Julie is spending quality time with family in Medina OH. She is able to watch Molly and Noah (her 2 yr old son) play together. To keep normal, Molly and Noah have enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping for pumpkins at the farm, play at the park (before Hurricane Sandy hit today), and just relax.
Once Julie starts Chemo next week, Tim and I will be taking full time care of Noah. We are looking forward to taking care of our sweet Nephew. We will try to document our days so that Julie can see her little guy via blog and skype from the hospital.
Remember to tell your family and friends you love them, life is short. Spend as much time as you have with each other. Remember to be kind and patient with people. You never know what they are going through in their personal life. They maybe suffering from an illness or someone they know.
