A note from Mom

A note from Mom,

Dear Molly,
You are our sweet little girl. You are very goofy like your Mom and Dad. You love to laugh and make silly sounds and then laugh at yourself.You love challenging us.

We have had some ups and downs. We'll call it Parent & Child in training. You're learning to be our child and we're learning to be your parents. We have learned so much from you!

When we are exhausted you are getting your second wind, ready to play and read some more (you're the child that never sleeps). You love to chat on your phone, but button up a little when you actually are talking to a real person on the other line. You love watching movies. I think you get that from you Daddy. Your vocabulary has exploded! Your teachers are amazed at how clear you speak. One thing you LOVE to do is go to grandma's house and push us out so you can spend the night there. Everyday after school you ask if we can see grandma.

In just a month time you were potty trained, gave up your paci, and healed from your Christmas wound (falling and knocking your teeth back). This drama makes it hard for you to go to bed at night. So Daddy and I are learning new patient ways to guide you back to bed when you get up a thousand times before you finally go off to Lilly whites tea party in your sleep.

The tantrums are somewhat minimal  now. You whine and start up a fake pout almost every time you want something that you're not getting immediately. But that comes with just being a girl! We're working on "Speak your words, No Whining!"

Your etiquette is so exquisite! You say so lady like and gently, "Excuse me" when you toot or burp. You say Please and Thank you most of the time and with out me asking you to, and you say "Sorry" after hurting or yelling at someone. Poor Charlie lays victim to your spouts too. We're working on being gentle to the doggy.

You have learned so much more since you turned 2. Like having a full conversation with yourself. You can recite your entire alphabet as well as identify the letters. Spelling your name and writing it came almost naturally to you. You can count to 10 perfectly  and just now started adding "11" instead of skipping it and going to "12". but most off all you're starting to count to 19 with out much error at all.

We were shocked though when one day this week we were driving home from school and heard you randomly start counting in Spanish! WOW! I must give credit to the school for that one! Your teacher said they have been working with you every day at circle time. You're just now warming up to the teachers and you don't want to leave when I come pick you up.

I'm sad to take you out of school AGAIN, on February 1st. However, we will have so much fun together, but I know you'll miss your friends and teachers. You'll miss out on the learning and play time fun. But I will make sure to keep up with your lessons while we're off. We'll try to find some play dates in our area. Eventually when Mommy gets enough projects, you can go back.This new journey will be adventurous for both of us!
